Want to meet the most amazing 72 year old?
It's a lot of work to get a serious picture of him.
This is a man that you can call in crisis and he'll come to the rescue.
He has a joke for every occasion.
His green eyes always sparkle whenever he gets to the punch line.
You can talk to him about any gospel principle in depth.
He loves my sweet Mama just as fiercely as the day he fell in love with her.
I passed Chemistry because he sat at the kitchen table every single night to help me do my homework.
This guy loves road trips.
Never eat anything he hands you out of his pocket, ever.
Even if you are at church and starving.
It's always old and crunchy with fuzz on it.
If you are little (or a cranky teenager) and look remotely miserable at church he'll grab your hand and draw smiley faces on your fingers so you'll have friends to hang with.
We still talk about his "Tarzan Yell" he'd do to random people on the street as we drove by, just to embarass us, and scare the poor people.
He has several aliases
(Yes, that's a word, I looked it up.)
I have spent a lifetime being seated at restaurants under strange names.
If you ask any grandkid if they know Vladamir, they'll tell you he's their grandpa.
Same goes for Lirpa Sloof, or Joe for that matter.
He unconditionally loves those around him
and I'm lucky to know and love him.
Happy Birthday Dad!
